90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Julia Trubkina is known to have kept quite a few secrets from fans during her reality TV stint with Brandon Gibbs, and now her throwback Tokio Hotel-inspired emo look is making her look unrecognizable. While 90 Day Fiancé's Brandon introduced his wife-to-be as a go-go dancer from Russia, Krasnodar resident Julia later revealed she had a resume of 15 different jobs back home, including that of a body-builder. Back then, Julia’s ripped and muscular physique shocked TLC viewers in her throwback Instagram pictures.
While season 8 was smooth sailing overall for 90 Day Fiancé couple Julia and Brandon, despite his helicopter parents, their HEA season 6 stint is not romantic at all. Julia and Brandon set sail in the new season with her wanting to move to Las Vegas and him asking her to stick to reality. The Green Card issues then propped up as 90 Day Fiancé's Brandon worried his wife would be sent back home, as Julia dreamed of leaving her husband and living a fancy life as soon as she became a permanent United States resident. But the recent 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? episode had judgmental Julia take on a jealous persona instead when Brandon introduced her to his high school friend Melanie when she insisted on having friends.
In spite of Brandon claiming that Melanie was like a sister to him, Julia’s brows furrowed over her husband and his friend having dated before she married the American man. And perhaps to remind 90 Day Fiancé star Brandon what he was missing out on when they were both in their teenage years, Julia posted a series of photos from when she was 14 and a “crazy fanatic” of the German rock band Tokio Hotel. “Rock is my love forever,” wrote 90 Day Fiancé cast member Julia in her caption, before adding, “I listen to all kinds of music, but rock will always be my favorite genre.”
In the pictures, 90 Day Fiancé's Julia sports dark hair with a massive fringe, inspired by then-teenage heartthrob Bill Kaulitz’s signature luxurious, streaked and teased locks. Julia revealed that she’d gotten piercings, dyed her hair black and “set it short,” as she used to have “long thick hair” back then. Julia confessed that she “really liked this style” and even now listens to “all rock alternative, heavy.” To give her look from 12 years ago a fresh new spin, Julia also shared a new set of photos wearing thick eyeliner and a messy bun while tagging Bill in them.
Julia’s interesting pictures got equally interesting replies from 90 Day Fiancé fans and stars, with Yara Zaya even commenting, “Hahaha, emo Julia I was trying to be emo too when I was 16.” Vanessa Guerra left a sign of the horns emoji on rocker babe Julia’s post, as the latter revealed she lived the emo phase from when she was 14 to 17 years old. Julia, however, couldn’t decide on her favorite Tokio Hotel song, calling a fan’s question a “tough choice.” But interestingly, to another fan, who asked how Julia’s parents approved of the 90 Day Fiancé star's bold style statement at 14, she spoke of them supporting her while knowing she never did drugs, smoked a cigarette or loved alcohol. “The worst thing is I cut my gorgeous hair,” Julia joked.
