Twitch Streamer xQc Confirms Details for Upcoming Subathon

Sometimes friendly rivalries develop on Twitch between streamers. Seeing someone pull off a world record in a game, or stream for 31 consecutive days, like Ludwig did last month, might provoke others to want to try and do one better. This seems to be the case with hugely popular streamer Felix 'xQc' Lengyel, who is putting together plans for his own subathon, and now he has set a length for the whole experiment.

xQc is not one to shy away from the spotlight. The streamer's abrasive personality is both the source of his huge viewership, and also why so many tune him out. He is polarizing, but it is that very nature that keeps people interested in xQc, whether they are a fan or not. He has been repeatedly banned from the NoPixel Grand Theft Auto RP server for his antics, though xQc's fans believe he will return to the server soon enough. Whatever he does, people tune in. They do so either as loyal fans, or with a morbid curiosity to find out what xQc is all about.

When Ludwig ended his subathon, sitting on over 270,000 subs, it wouldn't take long for someone to try something similar. xQc floated the idea earlier in the month, but is now set to make it happen. The Twitch streamer has said that his subathon will last for 60 days straight, and the ambitious xQc will bump up production levels on his stream to make the subathon memorable. Working with his tech crew, xQc is looking to rig his space up with several computers and a portable setup as well, to stream from anywhere in his house easily.

xQc is looking to break records during the subathon, and if he can stream for 60 days, he is likely to break several. After Twitch cracked down on bots, a number of streamers took a hit to their follower count, and xQc lost 2.2 million followers as a result. He may be looking to regain those numbers with actual Twitch users, and reach the high numbers set by folks like Ninja and Tfue as the only two streamers to top 10 million followers.

The popular streamer has not set a start date for the subathon yet, as he prepares for what will be a grueling two months. Whether or not he can capture the same lightning in a bottle that Ludwig did remains to be seen. The big question seems to be whether or not Twitch viewers will tune in to this ultra-subathon, or if they are still recovering from the last one. Regardless, putting xQc on camera nonstop will give the streamer plenty of time to deliver hot takes on hot tub streams, and troll people in GTA.

Popular streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel recently lost two million followers, but thankfully for him, most of these accounts were bots that were artificially boosting his numbers and messing with his stream statistics.

Twitch is working hard to clamp down on bot activity on the platform, officially banning over 7 million bots already with more to come. According to Twitch Tracker, SullyGnome and SocialBlade, xQc has lost 2.2 million followers over the course of a few days and is the first major streamer to be heavily impacted.
