Titans coordinator Todd Downing aims to maximize offense

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans have signed three-time All-American wrestler Adam Coon to play on the offensive line.

Coon compiled a 116-15 record in college while wrestling at Michigan but never played football for the Wolverines. A four-time high school state champion in wrestling, Coon was named the Detroit Athletic Club High School Athlete of the Year as a senior in high school.

Coon has no college football playing experience but was an all-state linebacker in 2012 at Fowlerville High School in Michigan and was an honorable mention offensive lineman in 2010 and 2011.

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with free-agent cornerback Bashaud Breeland, the team announced Friday.

The deal brings another free-agent addition to the Vikings' secondary this offseason along with Patrick Peterson and Mackensie Alexander, who spent the first four seasons of his career in Minnesota.

Breeland, 29, started 32 games for the Kansas City Chiefs over the past two years, including six postseason games. He had five interceptions during that span, including one in the Chiefs' Super Bowl LIV victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Keeping Vikings' Dalvin Cook fresh in 2021 starts in offseason
He missed the first four games of the 2020 season after he was suspended by the NFL for violating the league's policy on substance abuse.

Breeland was arrested in April 2020 in York County, South Carolina, on multiple charges, including resisting arrest, having an open container of beer or wine in a motor vehicle, possession of 28 grams or less of marijuana or 10 grams of hash, and driving without a license.

Before joining the Chiefs in 2019 as a free agent, Breeland spent four seasons with Washington and one with the Green Bay Packers. In Washington, Breeland was a four-year starter with eight interceptions. Breeland played in seven games for the Packers in 2018 with two interceptions.

Overall, Breeland has 377 tackles, 8 forced fumbles, 6 fumble recoveries, 14 interceptions and 3 defensive touchdowns over seven NFL seasons.

ESPN's Adam Teicher contributed to this report.

SEATTLE -- The Seahawks have given a four-year extension to All-Pro punter Michael Dickson, the team announced Friday.

Dickson's deal includes $14.5 million in new money that could reach as much as $16 million, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. It will pay him $10.6 million over the first two seasons and includes a $6.5 million signing bonus.

The Seahawks on Friday tweeted a picture of Dickson officially signing the contract, which was completed after about a month of negotiating.

The 25-year-old Dickson was set to make nearly $3.4 million this season in the final year of the rookie deal that he signed in 2018, after Seattle traded up in the fifth round to draft him. He received a CBA-mandated raise to that amount by virtue of making the Pro Bowl in 2018, when he also was named a first-team All-Pro.

Over his three seasons, Dickson ranks fifth in the NFL in yards per punt (47.55) and seventh in net yards per punt (42.49), according to ESPN data. During that span, he leads the league in punts taken inside the 10 (41) and inside the 5 (15).

Seahawks' planned flexibility leaves them open for post-June 1 moves
Dickson set franchise records last season in punting average (49.64) and net average (44.41).

He grew up in Australia and began kicking an American football in 2015. He attended the University of Texas after enrolling at Prokick Australia, a developmental program that helps young Aussies earn punting scholarships to American colleges.

Excluding free agents, Dickson joins wide receiver Tyler Lockett as the Seahawks players to sign an extension this offseason; both those deals were negotiated by agent Andrew Kessler. They also now have all three of their specialists signed to long-term deals; kicker Jason Myers and long-snapper Tyler Ott are both signed through the 2022 season.

Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams is in line for an extension of his own as he enters the final year of his rookie deal.
