Halle Berry Reacts After Fan Pokes Fun at Her 2021 Oscars Look
After Halle Berry debuted her bob and bangs at the 2021 Academy Awards on April 25, the internet had some thoughts. See the Oscar winner respond to one fan's take on her new look below.
And the award for best Twitter reaction goes to…
Despite the social media commentary on her new look, Halle Berry is currently having the last laugh. After Twitter user @troyeIlas posted a video of a fan joking about the bob and bangs Berry debuted at the Oscars, the 54-year-old actress retweeted the clip along with the weary and laughing emojis. Needless to say, the social media follower was pretty surprised to see Berry response and wrote back, "OH MY GOD?!?!"
Berry arrived at the 93rd annual Academy Awards on April 25 with her chic chop, wearing a gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana gown and stunning Ridano jewels. The star was joined by her musician boyfriend Van Hunt, who became Instagram official with Berry last year.
Later on in the evening, Berry presented the Oscar for production design, which went to Donald Graham Burt and Jan Pascale for their work in Mank.
Berry took home the trophy in 2002 for her performance in Monster's Ball, becoming the first Black woman to win in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category.
"I thought Cynthia [Erivo, the star of Harriet] was going to do it last year," Berry told Variety in 2020. "I thought Ruth [Negga, nominated for 2016's Loving] had a really good shot at it, too. I thought there were women that rightfully, arguably, could have, should have. I hoped they would have, but why it hasn't gone that way, I don't have the answer."
The publication noted Berry now feels conflicted about what her Academy Awards win represents. "It's one of my biggest heartbreaks," she continued. "The morning after, I thought, ‘Wow, I was chosen to open a door.' And then, to have no one … I question, ‘Was that an important moment, or was it just an important moment for me?' I wanted to believe it was so much bigger than me. It felt so much bigger than me, mainly because I knew others should have been there before me and they weren't."
Justin Bieber Sent Victoria Beckham Crocs and Her Reaction Was Priceless
After Justin Bieber gifted her lilac Crocs, Victoria Beckham took to Instagram to ask fans if she'll actually wear them. Scroll on for her hilarious reaction to the footwear.
Posh in Crocs? That would be a major fashion statement.
Victoria Beckham can't stop laughing after Justin Bieber sent her a pair of surprising footwear. The Spice Girls star took to her Instagram Story on April 27 to show off the lilac Crocs she received for the singer. "A lot of people have been asking me what I'm planning on wearing after lockdown," she wrote to her 28.9 million followers. "What do we think about this suggestion from @justinbieber?"
The fashion designer then gave fans a close-up look at the shoes, which feature various charms, from Justin's Drew House collab. "OK this is so kind of Justin to send me some Crocs," Victoria said. "Never worn a pair of Crocs. This did make me laugh, I mean, it is the thought that counts. Thank you so much."
The mom of four went on to note she wasn't so sure what to say about the footwear, but she thanked the "Anyone" artist again for the gift. Victoria also posted a poll, asking fans, "Will I be wearing lilac crocs?!" She also noted that she "can't wait" to see the results.
It appears that Justin actually sent the shoes to the entire Beckham family, as David Beckham and 16-year-old son Cruz Beckham also posted about the Crocs.
As fans may recall, Cruz has been compared to Justin over the years for his vocal skills. In fact, Cruz made headlines in 2018 when mom Victoria posted a video of him singing Justin's track "Love Yourself."
Victoria captioned the video, "When u sneak up and @cruzbeckham is doing his morning vocal warm up!X VB."
Proud dad David also couldn't help but gush about his son's talent, previously telling E! News that Cruz had found his "passion" in music. "[Victoria and I] like to think that we can credit ourselves...You always hope that your children are listening and taking notice, and this is a good example that, actually, they are," he said in 2016 after Cruz dropped his first single. "Children are like sponges, they soak everything in, and you don't realize it until they come out with something like what Cruz has just done."
Martin Scorsese's Daughter Asked Him to Identify Feminine Products and the Results Were Delightful
Francesca Scorsese, 21, teased that she's "going to get in trouble" for posting a hilarious video of her dad, Martin Scorsese, trying to guess the names of objects like beauty blenders and scrunchies.
Martin Scorsese might know everything about making Oscar-winning movies, but when it comes to the world of women, he's stumped.
His 21-year-old daughter, Francesca Scorsese, put his knowledge to the test to see how much her dad really knows about feminine products.
On Monday, April 26, she shared the TikTok video "Having my dad guess feminine items pt. 1," which showed her quizzing him on the names of various cosmetic essentials that most women have in their bathrooms at home.
On her Instagram Story, Francesca wrote, "Yes I'm going to get in trouble for posting this," adding, "Sorry dad" on another slide.
First was an eyelash curler, and the 78-year-old filmmaker guessed, "That is a, for your eyes, you know, mascara." Francesca was impressed, exclaiming, "Oh!"
When she showed a picture of a beauty blender, Martin said, "That is a, well, it's some sort of cosmetic thing that you use."
As for the menstrual cup, The Irishman director thought it was a flagon (possibly referring to a drink container) or an eye cup.
He thought the nipple pasties were earbuds and assumed a hair donut was "some sort of weird pillow of some kind," instead of the tool used to create the perfect sock bun.
When the We Are Who We Are actress put up a picture of a bobby pin, Martin seemed to think it was too easy. "Come on, what is this? Wasting my time," he remarked.
But the scrunchie, on the other hand, perplexed him. "That's a, you know, to use for your head, I think," he guessed. In the end, she generously gave him credit for four out of the seven objects.
She captioned the TikTok video, "I will probably regret posting this but.... he actually did much better than I thought!!"
Clearly, having three daughters has paid off for Martin. In addition to Francesca, he's dad to Cathy Scorsese, 55, and Domenica Cameron-Scorsese, 44.
The legendary director's youngest child is now following in his footsteps by pursuing a career in Hollywood. In 2020, Francesca told USA Today, "Everyone has this huge perception of my dad, being who he is, but he's not something to be very stressed about. He's just a funny little old man who's quite talented."
And the NYU film student explained that her latest TikTok is just the first part of a series of clips she'll make, so stay tuned for more Martin Scorsese dad content coming soon.
