Remember, the last few days before your exams

As your date with the NAPLEX approaches - feeling a bit like a locomotive on steroids the closer the day gets - don't wear yourself out by worrying about how difficult the exam will be.

Instead - and strangely enough - you'll find that a little mind and body conditioning will most certainly help on the actual day.

The last few days before the exam should be your "Actually Sitting The NAPLEX" practice ensuring you're in top mental and physical shape at that time.

I mean, let's get serious. By now, you should have studied sufficiently for the test and cramming last few bits in the last couple of days is totally out of the question.

This close you should be reviewing keywords, concepts and phrases, and not reading your study materials all over again. A good indication that you have learned what you need to know is practicing your recall skills a few days before the NAPLEX instead of actually trying to learn something new.

Make a mental note of the things you don't know if you stumble upon any during your actual review process and factor in learning them then. By the time of the last couple of days pre naplex test you should really only be practicing with flashcards in order to aid your memory. You should now be in control of the knowledge you have learned.

Now is the right time to try to practice on mock exams - if you have any - or sample questions out of your naplex study or revision guides. Actually sit and work the question as if you were sitting the exam - don't worry about if your answer is actually correct or not. Sit there, read the question, work out your approach to answering it and do it - run the exam, walk the process of you answering questions on this topic under exam conditions - start to feel exactly what you are going to be doing in just a couple of days time.

The next step is to adjust your schedule to conform to the likely circumstances during exam day. You should try to wake up as you would on the day of your NAPLEX. This will condition your body to get the right cycle as the exam approaches. Also, get enough sleep. Make sure that your alarm clock will function properly when the day comes. Most cell phones have an alarm function on them - set that as well to be a back up alarm, just in case.

Take a visit to the site of your exam. Familiarize yourself with the place so you'll know how much time you need to allot for going there or where to park your car once you arrive in order to save precious time. You will also need to know where the restrooms are or where to buy snacks during the break.

Take time off from studying to relax, exercise or breathe fresh air. This will help you sleep better at night, thus preparing your body and mind for the exam. You should gather your strength after long days of studying and prepare for the main event. Go watch a movie or spend time with family and friends. Take an hour's worth of walk everyday.

On the eve of the exam day, prepare all the things you will need to bring like the permit, identification cards and confirmation numbers. Do not forget to pack your personal belongings such as eyeglasses. You would not want to leave anything important when you go to the exam site on the day of your appointment.

Remember, the last few days before your exams are crucial in preparing you the person for the last hurdle in becoming a licensed pharmacist. You need to make sure that all the aspects of your preparation have been sufficiently covered. You wouldn't want to rush to the testing site unprepared and late - that is just a recipe for a disaster.
