The Ryzen 5000 series processors, the final evolution of the socket AM4 platform, hit the market at a bad time. The consequences of the lockdown, the protracted crisis on the video card market and the rising prices made many users wonder whether they need an upgrade of their computer as such, and whether it is worth changing only part of the platform, if it will not be possible to supplement it with a powerful video card at all times.
In addition, the popularity of the new Ryzen was negatively affected by retail prices, which for a long time were overstated relative to the recommended ones, and only recently began to bounce back.
However, this coin has two sides. As you know, the more successful the new generation of AMD products comes out, the more mind-blowing stories arise in the comments to them. And, if on the release of Ryzen 3000 from the whistle of professional commentators, the speakers almost started to faint, then stories about incredible heating and cyclopean power consumption processors of the current generation are relatively rare.
To keep it this way, consider the characteristics and features of the new products using the Ryzen 5 5600X as an example.
Firstly, this is the R5-5600X itself, because the author still has not learned how to make reviews of processors without the processors themselves. For this, you are already welcome to the rest.
Secondly, the representative of the previous generation Ryzen - the six-core R5-3600X.
Thirdly, the Core i5-10600KF, which is already the past, but the current generation of CPUs from Intel at the time of the start of tests, and also offers 6 physical cores and 12 processing threads.
As we all know from the comments , the author in his tests uses exclusively specially selected AMD processors, whose characteristics do not correspond at all to those in the store.
Unfortunately, in the real world, all three test processors were taken off the shelf in one of the St. Petersburg CSN stores. And all three models are presented in OEM-configuration, so there can be no question of any "special selection":
Since the logic of the article provides for a comparison of coolers on two different platforms, it is impossible to use boxed models of AMD coolers this time. Therefore, although there are still four main participants, their composition has changed:
Aerocool Verkho 5 Dark is the second most expensive cooler, which, judging by its characteristics, tends to jump out of the budget tower segment, but in practice ... you will see later;
PCCooler GI-X4 - just the same representative of the class "4 pipes, 120 mm fan" ... but with some peculiarities;
Deepcool Gammaxx 300 , a super popular model from the budget segment, which is not installed in the comments on the AM4 socket, and the author is still not tired of joking about it.
As you can see, there are no top models for 6-8 thousand rubles among the participants. All four coolers fall within the range from 1 to 4 thousand, depending on the region and promotions in a particular store.
Unlike the previous article, in this case the automatic mode of the coolers was not used. For each of the three models, the modes of maximum, average and minimum fan rotation speeds were selected, which were manually fixed using a Zalman Fan Mate rheostat.
The reference CO today is CoolerMaster Masterliquid ML240 RGB, which in all cases worked exclusively at the maximum speed of the pump and fans.
