The first look image for The Kissing Booth 3 is released. Netflix's rom-com franchise is debuting its threequel in 2021, and to drive up the hype for the blockbuster, marketing appears to be starting soon. Based on the novels of the same name written by Beth Reekles, The Kissing Booth premiered in 2018; the second installment of the series, The Kissing Booth 2 arrived a couple years later in 2020, which directly springboards what can be expected from its upcoming sequel.
Following a mostly straightforward opening narrative, The Kissing Booth 2 tackled a more complicated storyline as Elle and Noah attempted to make their long-distance relationship work. While the couple was committed to each other, a series of misunderstandings, coupled with the introduction of Marco, put a strain on their bond. Similarly, Elle and Lee's friendship was also put to the test with the latter getting a girlfriend in Rachel who's not exactly fond of his best friend. Ultimately, everything was sorted out, but as she graduated from college, Elle is faced with a dilemma — go to Harvard where she can be with Noah or keep the promise she made with Lee to go to UC Berkeley.
As Netflix gears up to announce when The Kissing Booth 3 hits the platform, the streaming giant rolls out the first promotional still from the movie. It features Elle, Noah, Lee, and Rachel seemingly having a great time hanging together during summer break. Check out the image below:
From the looks of it, The Kissing Booth 3 might be stretching out Elle's conflict that was introduced at the end of the second movie. With the film being primarily set during the summer break allows all the main characters to spend a little bit more time with each other. The Kissing Booth 2 already had Noah separated from the group for the most part of its run as he's across the country studying at Harvard. He only spent time with Elle and the rest of the characters during his girlfriend's visit to his school and over at Thanksgiving holiday which wasn't really a great experience for anyone involved. The question now is if Elle choosing her college school to be the upcoming movie's core narrative issue or is there more to it?
It's curious how The Kissing Booth 3's story might differ from the narrative of To All The Boys: Always and Forever. Both films' heroines are faced with the same dilemma that might make or break their romantic relationships. Granted that the upcoming project has been shot before Lana Condor and Noah Centineo-led rom-com movie was released, Netflix may have made sure that they don't essentially have the endings.
Elle Evans (Joey King) will likely decide to go to Harvard instead of U.C. Berkeley in The Kissing Booth 3. Netflix's teen movie series dropped its second installment two years after the first The Kissing Booth movie hit the platform in 2018. Based on the novels of the same name written by Beth Reekles, the end of the sequel film sets up the confirmed the third project with Elle having to choose what college to attend.
