The Day Before Developers Considering Console Version

Upcoming zombie survival MMO The Day Before has been getting a lot of attention and hype thanks to its debut trailer. As of now, The Day Before is only headed to PC, but that has not stopped many fans from hoping for a console release.

The Day Before is an upcoming zombie game from developer Fntastic, which is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of the year. It drops players into a post-apocalyptic open world where players will have to overcome zombies and survivors alike to scavenge supplies and find answers to what happened - alone or with a few friends.

The Day Before looks very impressive, even though it is in its earliest stages, and it has built quite a sizable audience waiting for news. In an interview with GamingBolt, Fntastic co-founders Ed and Aisen Gotovtsev talked about the game at length, and while the interview has not been fully released yet, the developer's answer to the question of whether or not fans can expect a future console release has been. The developers said they are looking into bringing the title to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and even say fans should "wait for a special announcement."

Further details are not given, but with other popular survival MMOs like Rust and DayZ making the jump to console it does seem plausible that The Day Before will follow suit. It is possible the developers are hinting at possible participation with Xbox Game Pass, since the program has been getting a lot of big-name games and it would be a great way for The Day Before to reach a large audience on the Xbox Series consoles. However, it could also be something else entirely.

Of course, when The Day Before launches it will have a lot of competition. While it may beat State of Decay 3 to the punch, it will need to differentiate itself from the many other survival and zombie games that players are comparing it to ahead of release like The Last of Us and DayZ. That being said, The Day Before is in a great position to make a name for itself, and the reception thus far to each of its trailers and announcements has been overwhelmingly positive. The possibility of launching on next-generation consoles would do a lot to help it reach a larger audience.

The Day Before is an upcoming open-world multiplayer zombie survival game set in a post-pandemic America. While this isn't exactly a revolutionary concept, it does appear from the gameplay shown that this is going to be one of the biggest and most detailed entries into the genre yet.

Part of what makes The Day Before so interesting is that it seems to borrow concepts from quite a few different games and bring them together to form something that seems pretty new. If the game can manage to bring this all together into something that feels cohesive, it could end up being a very healthy marriage between The Last Of Us 2, DayZ, and The Division.
