Outriders is Now Working on Group B and C Item Restoration

Outriders has had a tumultuous launch, to say the least. No one can deny that Outriders had an expectation-breaking release, but post-launch since then has struggled with several key issues. To its credit, developer People Can Fly has been rushing to fix those problems as quickly as possible. The latest example is People Can Fly's effort to reward players who lost items from their inventory due to one of Outriders' worst bugs. Thursday marked the beginning of that effort's second phase.
No timeframe has been made available for when all Group B/Group C players will have their missing Legendary items returned. People Can Fly is having to sort through every single player's past Legendary loot, searching for items removed in a specific way. That could take some time, or it could be a relatively fast process. People Can Fly will hopefully share more information soon.

Obviously, while there are a lot of Group A players that will be happy to be able to play again, the bigger issue is that this happened in the first place. Players getting locked out of their Outriders characters, losing their high-end gear and,  and inventory problems in general shouldn't be happening -- especially in a live service game. Regardless, that they happened and it's being fixed has to stand for something.

People Can Fly's "Inventory Restoration" effort began on Wednesday with plans to roll out items across multiple phases. Group A characters were the most harshly impacted players from the recent bug. Not only did Group A experience a character wipe, but those players were also no longer able to login to the game whatsoever. Group A has now been dealt with, according to People Can Fly, with Group B now included in the ongoing rollout.
Group B includes players who weren't as severely impacted as Group A. They lost items but were still able to log into the game and play their characters perfectly fine. Group B players will have up to 20 legendary items that were in their inventory be restored. These will be the most recently acquired Legendaries that disappeared from the player's inventory. Their replacement items will have the same attribute combinations, but will have God Roll max values.
There's also a Group C involved in this process, too. Group C includes all of the players that weren't impacted by the bug in any way. The problem is that People Can Fly can't tell the difference between Group B and Group C. Group A players are easier to track, since they can't log in. Everyone else may or may not have lost an item. As a result, People Can Fly is treating all Group B and Group C players the same. That means that some players may get Legendary items they didn't realize they lost back just as part of the process.
