Ever since its announcement in 2017, Biomutant has long been one of the more highly-anticipated video games. Its release is finally around the corner, but there are still details about the RPG that are still unknown. One major question that interested parties may have is whether or not Biomutant supports any sort of multiplayer.
Single-player-only games can be extremely successful. Games like Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild all found triumph in terms of reviews, sales, and player satisfaction without the need for player vs player (PVP) multiplayer or coop. That being said, many games benefit greatly from the added features that multiplayer provides. So it is perfectly reasonable to wonder if Biomutant will support some sort of multiplayer mode or feature when it releases in just a few days.
Does Biomutant Support Multiplayer (PVP) or Co-op?
On whether or not there is a PVP mode, the answer is no. Biomutant is a narrative action role-playing experience. One could hope that there would be PVP experiences to be had, especially as Biomutant allows players to create and build their own class. However, that is not the case. Biomutant does not support any sort of deathmatch, objective-based, or arena-style game mode that pits players against other players.
That would leave coop play as a possibility, since players could theoretically take down enemies in Biomutant together as they level up, improve, and progress through the game. However, co-op also is not in Biomutant. Neither PVP multiplayer or coop multiplayer is a part of Biomutant at launch, as the game is strictly a single-player focused journey.
Could Biomutant Support Multiplayer (PVP) or Co-op in the Future?
The no multiplayer or co-op for Biomutant may be a bit unsatisfactory of an answer for some, but that is the case for now. Hypothetically that could change if Biomutant went on to be very successful. Many believe that Biomutant could be one of the next big hits, and if that is the case, developer Experiment 101 may have the financial resources to support the game post-launch. Something like a co-op update could be in the future. Or a sequel could, of course, have endless possibilities.
But all of that is conjecture. Right now, Biomutant is single-player only and nothing else. There will be a lot for players to explore in Biomutant, with varied biomes, characters to meet, and more. It will all be done as a solo experience.
While people go to see Marvel movies for the heroes and their adventures, those characters wouldn't make the same type of impact without their extensive supporting casts. Luckily, Marvel has just as much luck at creating these lovable supporting characters as they do in bringing people like Thor and Captain America to the big screen.
Marvel frequently creates supporting characters who are there to help the heroes on their journey to save the world. While these side characters often don’t get as much development as their superhuman counterparts, they still manage to make a big impact on fans with the little amount of screentime they have. These supporting roles are often filled by talented actors with a penchant for bringing in grade-A comedy and last-minute lifesavers whenever need be, adding to the overall greatness of each and every Marvel film.
