Bravely Default 2 has a stunning 24 jobs for players to unlock. After doing so, they can then mix and match these jobs to create unique combinations and even more unique characters. While most of these jobs will be made available by playing through the main story, there are a few that are optional and can only be obtained by completing specific side quests. The Gambler job is one such example, as players have the opportunity to unlock it after they defeat Anihal the Beast Master. In order to get to this point, just keep on playing through the story until reaching the town of Savalon.
This happens early in chapter 1, so it won't take long for players to be able to unlock the Gambler job for their characters. Once in Savalon, continue through just a bit more Bravely Default 2's main story until the Beast Master Anihal is defeated and her asterisk belongs to the players. At this point, head to the gambling hall on the north side of town to start unlocking the Gambler Job.
Once inside the gambling hall, locate an NPC named Shirley. She is standing by a table and has a side quest for the player, talk to her in order to start it. This will introduce players to Bravely Default 2's card game, Bind and Divide, with a short tutorial explaining how it works. This game is very similar to card games from Final Fantasy games, particularly the one from Final Fantasy 9. Defeat Shirley in this tutorial match and talk to Orpheus in the northeast corner of the hall to get his character card and continue the quest.
After talking to Orpheus, players then need to wander around the gambling hall and challenge a few other characters to the card game. Defeat them all and Shirley will offer to play against the player again. It's vital to save the game before trying to beat her, as if the player loses the card game against her, they will have to reload their save file. Those that manage to beat her will then be treated to a grueling boss battle against Shirley the Gambler.
Although Shirley isn't a particularly challenging boss fight, there are elements of luck that come into play. Players may have to try this fight a few times before victory is theirs, another reason why it is important to save the game and heal up before challenging her to B&D. After defeating Shirley in combat, players will unlock the Gambler job asterisk and can then switch their characters to it freely.
With the worldwide launch of Bravely Default 2, many players may be wondering how many hours it will take for them to complete the game. While the length of the game may pale in comparison to JRPG juggernauts like Persona 5, completing Bravely Default 2 will be no short task.
As Bravely Default 2 reviews continue to roll in, several critics have praised the game for its engrossing story, unique combat system, and beautiful environments. However, one point of contention for many critics seems to be the amount of grinding required to complete the game.
