Apex Legends Valkyrie Exploit Moves Players Under the Map

Apex Legends Season 9 Legacy has gotten off to quite a rocky start following its launch yesterday afternoon. The Legacy update rollout for Apex Legends was plagued with server issues for pretty much the entire day, with some intermittent server and stability issues persisting even a full day after the update rolled out.

Now, it seems there are some other issues plaguing Season 9, this time involving the brand new Legend Valkyrie. Specifically, it seems that Valkyrie's ultimate ability is causing problems for Apex Legends players that are using Valkyrie alongside their teammates under certain circumstances.

Players have been posting their experiences with Season 9 on the Apex Legends subreddit, with many of the posts talking about ongoing server issues that heavily impacted the experience on update day. However, there are also a fair amount of players sharing clips of Valkyrie's ultimate ability bugging out. Valkyrie's ultimate ability works like a mobile Jump Tower of sorts, with teammates able to latch onto Valkyrie during takeoff to shoot into the sky and dive somewhere else. However, it appears that if certain things interfere with Valkyrie's takeoff, the ability glitches out with varying results.

For example, one clip posted on Reddit by user JustaRandom0 shows Valkyrie using her ultimate with a Revenant Death Totem active. The Revenant player activates their ultimate before Valkyrie, and then the squad prepares to take off. However, the team do not launch into the air as intended and are instead stuck in place hovering above the ground. After a few seconds, the game allows the players to freely move on the ground while locked into Valkyrie's takeoff animation.

After moving around a bit, the team ends up clipping through the geometry of the map, ultimately dying underneath it. It's admittedly a funny sight, but could prove frustrating in different circumstances. Apex Legends is no stranger to glitches, which is a problem that is only exacerbated by the release of a new Season. This particular glitch makes Valkyrie a very unreliable character during competitive play.

Other clips on Reddit show similar results with the glitch, but it does appear that there is some common ground among the glitches. It seems that when teammates get their character models caught on certain geometry in the map, such as a character's foot getting stuck under the floor or a teammate hitting the edge of a roof during takeoff, then the glitch will occur. With Apex Legends having more players than ever before, there will undoubtedly be a lot of players experiencing this glitch unintentionally during matches. Hopefully, Respawn quickly addresses this issue with Valkyrie's ultimate ability so players can see the character's full potential.

Battle Royales have shot near the top of the food chain when it comes to the most popular game genre, and for good reason: there are a ton of great games in the Battle Royale space. Many of the games in this genre are free, though things didn't necessarily start this way when PUBG was the king that skyrocketed the genre.

The games on this list have a pretty wide variety of hooks, ranging from hero-shooters to third-person spellcasting to cartoon game hows. Here are the best Battle Royale games players can play on their PlayStation console.
