The collaboration between Build-A-Bear Workshop and Nintendo's Animal Crossing franchise has once again borne fruit. The official Nintendo Twitter account announced that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons collection is now once again available for order, this time from the official Nintendo Store.
This isn't the first time Nintendo and Build-A-Bear Workshop have brought fans plush versions of series regulars Tom Nook and Isabelle. Previous batches of these toys at Build-A-Bear sold out so quickly that the companies decided to restock them. Currently these are the only characters available, but fans of the series hope to see more members of the adorable Animal Crossing cast added in the future.
Tom Nook comes with a cream-colored shirt printed with a pattern of green leaves in the shape of the game's logo while Isabelle comes wearing a short cream skirt and a bright pink shirt with the same leaf pattern in light pink. Both characters have the Build-A-Bear logo printed on their right hand and the full-sized Animal Crossing logo on their left foot - presumably so that fans can rest assured these toys are official products, unlike the fake Animal Crossing game listed on the Microsoft Store. The Tom Nook and Isabelle dolls are currently available for $44 each online and at the Nintendo Store in New York.
The last time these toys went on sale, they sold out rapidly and much of the stock was claimed by scalpers who pushed the prices sky-high. Fans were not amused, but as of writing both Isabelle and Tom Nook are still available on the online Nintendo Store. Build-A-Bear has previously tweeted about using a digital 'waiting room' to ensure that more customers can successfully purchase their desired plush, so perhaps this abundance of toys is related.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the most successful Switch title of 2020 by far, and it continues to be successful well into the new year. With a roster of over 400 villagers for players to interact with and pick favorites from, the game offers a wide array of activities to engage in, items to draft, and locations to explore.
Players interested in celebrating Mother's Day or just collecting as many items as possible may also want to investigate the new seasonal items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons added for the holiday. Fans can purchase Tom Nook and Isabelle from the Nintendo NYC Store, or online through the Nintendo Store.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons just passed its first anniversary last month, and Nintendo celebrated the event with tons of content updates. Among the updates introduced in the game are a multitude of Super Mario-themed materials, furniture, outfits, and decorative items.
As expected, the arrival of a new month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will bring many changes such as changing seasons, events, and bugs and fish. Although old players may have experienced many of the upcoming events last year, it appears that Nintendo will shake things up a bit to keep players interested.
