Having become a tourist, my appreciation for London really blossomed. Going back to a city that you once called home with more time (and money) means I can see another portion of a place. On my return from Nottingham, I hopped on the train to London to start crossing off stuff on my London bucket-list.

Don't miss the annual event in London

London is a city that really doesn't stop and the year-round calendar of events confirms it. Here are a few of the events worthy of your bucket list in London.

1 Notting Hill Carnival

This big August celebration takes place on the streets of Notting Hill and is the biggest street party in Europe I believe. The color parade and the dance is a real highlight for me.

2. Christmas and New Years in London

Christmas is a miracle in London, although Christmas shopping is stressful here! New Year's are also great, as fireworks light up the city at midnight and the New Year's Parade enlivens the streets with artists to get rid of everyone's hangover.

3. Cavalry Train

This incredible water festival takes place in adorable Little Venice in May and is a British national. Think really good boats, live music, morris dancing, and chaos and you've got the idea.

4. Pride of London

The iconic London Pride Parade is a star in its own right, showing how diverse and love the city is, but the weeks leading up to the main event are also packed with activities and events celebrating all LGBTQ + people, which makes it a fantastic time to do it. Being on London Plus, the sun is usually up and the streets are very busy!

5. Chelsea Flower Show

The Chelsea Flower Show is held every May, and while this is not my personal cup of tea, I am well informed that when you're in your color and your buds, you shouldn't miss it.

6. Wimbledon

When I joined the long line trying to get some Wimbledon tickets and then miraculously managed to collect the center pitch, I couldn't believe it and had an incredible day. Wimbledon has never been on my wish list in London, but it's been a great day. Now I recommend it to anyone who is listening to what you will become. If you are still with me at 100, God bless you!

7. Take a trip out of town

Cop here, but it's true. So many people visit London and then say they have visited England or even England and that is wrong. Here are some of my favorite places in England and some of my favorite places in Scotland. Sorry Wales and US, bye!
