Since the COVID-19 pandemic began at the end of 2019, several new mutations from the corona virus, which were originally discovered in China, have been identified. Scientists say the mutations will continue as the virus spreads.

As recently, the triple mutation of COVID-19 or known as B.1.618 was found in India. This virus mutation has even spread to other states, such as Maharashtra, New Delhi, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh.

So, how dangerous is this virus mutation? Check out the following explanation.
Triple Mutation COVID-19, How Can It Happen?
India has been hit by a second wave of the coronavirus. No kidding, because of the large number of people infected, many people refer to it as a "tsunami" corona virus.

Not surprisingly, last Tuesday (27/4), the country of Bollywood set a global record with an increase in daily cases reaching more than 360 thousand. Not only that, the death rate also reached a record high of 3,293 per day last Tuesday.

The massive COVID-19 storm caused local health facilities to collapse so that many patients did not receive proper care. So, how can the transmission of COVID-19 occur so massively and rapidly in this Ganges River Country?

Scientists suspect the increase in corona virus cases in India is caused by a triple mutation of COVID-19 or a triple mutation of the coronavirus.

Described by dr. Arina Heidyana, the triple mutation of COVID-19 is the result of the evolution of the three pre-existing coronavirus strains. The three strains eventually formed new viral mutations.

Vinod Scaria, a researcher at the CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology in India, said viruses often mutate genetically when they spread to reproduce.

This is done so that they become more resistant to the environment, drugs, or vaccines that can stop its spread.

Although triple mutation in India is quite alarming, according to Scaria, not all mutations are dangerous.

The triple mutant was also identified to carry the E484K mutation, which is the first coronavirus mutation identified in South Africa and Brazil.

In addition, quoted from Jagran English, experts identified that the triple mutation of COVID-19 originated from a double mutation, namely variant B.1.617 which was first detected in Maharashtra.

Variant B.1.617 is a mutation of two types of coronavirus, namely E484Q and L452R. Then, the virus variants evolved and the variants combined to form triple mutations or called B.1.618.

The E484Q mutation reported in the UK and South Africa and the L452R mutation in California have been associated with antibody-fighting ability post-vaccination. This is what is worried about the triple mutation of COVID-19 in India.

What Are the Dangers of the Corona Triple Mutation from India?
Until now, the impact of this new type of mutation on health has not been known. This can be found bypassing the virus research. About ten laboratories in India are following genome studies of the mutation of the new virus.

Nonetheless, given the rapidly rising number of cases in India, the researchers conclude that this triple mutation variant may be more contagious.

"It could be more dangerous, because from the research, the mutation spreads very quickly. So more and more people could be infected with COVID-19 in the near future, "said dr. Arina.

According to Women Health, until now there is no clear evidence that this triple mutation variant is more deadly or more contagious than other variants. This variant is also not listed as a variant of concern for the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In addition, there is no evidence that the triple mutation virus in India is immune to the COVID-19 vaccine. This means that so far vaccinations are still needed to prevent the spread of the virus and also prevent severe disease caused by COVID-19.

The new wave of COVID-19 cases in various countries is in the spotlight. Not only the elderly or people with comorbidities, many children are now also infected with the corona virus.

In fact, the high increase in positive cases of children is considered to be the trigger for the spread of a new type of corona virus.

The new corona virus variants from England and India are allegedly more contagious. Then, there is another finding that says v
