This could be an M.B.A, but unfortunately an M.B.A doesnt ensure your success

There are a lot of people out there with an M.B.A. (Masters in Business), but only a fraction of them are successful business owners and entrepreneurs. What is the difference between those that are writing their own (large) paychecks and the rest who take orders from their boss while their expensive degree is hanging in their cubicle?

In studying the notable business leaders there are 3 key elements that all successful entrepreneurs share. All are essential and if one is missing, success will be lacking as well.

1. Education. This could be an M.B.A, but unfortunately an M.B.A doesn't ensure your success. In fact, the founders of Apple Computer, Microsoft, Yahoo! and Google don't have M.B.A.s. However, education is the best investment you can make, because your best asset is you! The important fact is that the more you know, the more value you can provide to others in the business world. Start learning your stuff in the industry you are passionate about and strive to become an expert. There are many low-cost, but high value educational options: get an internship, take online courses, or dust off that library card and read some new books.

2. Mentorship. Success is actually pretty simple if you know how to duplicate it. The fastest way to do this is by learning directly from someone who is successful. Find a mentor, now. Ask them questions, join them at their business meetings, and take on their coaching. An even better tactic is to work for them, even without pay, and just observe. Most entrepreneurs attribute their success to the guidance of their mentor. If you don't personally know someone who has the success you want to mirror, start combing your community and asking friends or family about any contacts they have.

3. Commitment. Starting any business isn't easy- it initially requires hard work and time (so that in a few years, you can reap the benefits and relax). The only sure way to fail, is by giving up. It is one's commitment to the end result that enables an entrepreneur to continue despite difficult road bumps. If you aren't 110% committed to your business and the lifestyle you dream of, you'll be more likely to easily give in to any frustration and quit.
