Upcoming MCU Projects Evan Peters Could Appear In (As Quicksilver Or Ralph)

Evan Peters' appearance in WandaVision as Quicksilver - later revealed to be an actor named Ralph Bohner - sparked a great deal of speculation about the MCU folding in the X-Men movies via the multiverse. While this speculation proved to be a fruitless red herring within WandaVision itself, some fans have rightly pointed out that Peters could return, either as Bohner in a cameo appearance, or as the X-Men universe's Quicksilver for real. With a number of upcoming projects promising to explore the Marvel multiverse, the MCU could easily dip into a world in which Quicksilver, as portrayed by Peters, existed or where Bohner turned out to be more significant than originally revealed.

As an apparently average man with (as far as audiences have been shown) a single extraordinary experience, Ralph Bohner could conceivably show up in any MCU project that visits New Jersey with relative ease, as a cameo appearance. Although WandaVision theories suggested Ralph could be Pietro's multiverse equivalent, there is no guarantee that even if Quicksilver were reintroduced into the MCU, that Peters would portray him; Aaron Taylor-Johnson played Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron, after all. As with other MCU cameos, however, Peters could reprise his role as Bohner, as a background figure that offers a sense of real-world continuity to the Marvel pictures.

Bringing back Peters as the X-Men's Quicksilver equivalent could be interesting, continuing to press a pain point for the Scarlet Witch and showing how weird the multiverse can be. The resemblance to the WandaVision character could be chalked up to sheer coincidence, played for laughs, or even used for some kind of plot point due to the two characters' similar appearance, and Bohner's own temporary possession of super-speed. If Bohner and Quicksilver are similar in appearance, they could swap out - like Matt Damon's actor character playing Loki - a scheme that could be well-suited to Ralph as an aspiring actor.

The upcoming Loki series promises to explore variant timelines, including ones quite different from the main MCU. Whether Ralph Bohner exists in these universes or not, a variant of Quicksilver certainly could - and the mutant Quicksilver could be brash enough and powerful enough to give Loki a run for his money if they came into conflict. While there's no current evidence in the trailer that Marvel intends to have Loki visit a universe where the X-Men exist, as a streaming series Loki has more screen time to explore "what if" scenarios. Spending an episode or two playing around with a mutant universe would allow Marvel to test the waters for introducing mutants back into the MCU.

Loki's bag of tricks still relies heavily on deception; since Ralph had Quicksilver's correct powers, Loki might seek out the actor to play Quicksilver in a world that needed a stand-in for the original Quicksilver on short notice, assuming he still has those powers and they didn't disappear when Monica Rambeau broke the spelled necklace Agatha Harkness made him wear. The differences in appearance could be hand-waved away as a manifestation of Loki's own abilities, and the multiverse could make a hero out of the otherwise unremarkable Ralph Bohner. This is less likely, especially if the person being deceived is the Scarlet Witch - having already done the switch once, Marvel might hesitate to continue twisting the same knife repeatedly.
