Netflix dropped the trailer for their upcoming Liam Neeson action thriller, The Ice Road, which is slated to hit the streaming service on June 25th. The plot revolves around the collapse of a diamond mine in a remote area of Canada that leaves 26 miners trapped. In order to save the trapped workers, Neeson must lead a rescue operation that requires transporting the necessary equipment via truck across treacherous frozen waters.

The trailer, released by Netflix, features the tense action most Neeson fans have come to expect since he broke into the action genre with 2008's Taken. It highlights the stakes of the rescue before Neeson and Fishburne load up their semi-trucks to begin the perilous trek across the unstable, shifting ice. As with any high-stakes scenario, things don't go according to plan, and they soon find themselves battling the elements in a mad dash to get to the trapped miners before it's too late. Check out the trailer below:

The film is written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, whose previous work includes writing and directing 2004's The Punisher, as well as penning scripts for Armageddon, Die Hard with a Vengeance, and Jumanji. Neeson is also sharing the screen alongside Laurence Fishburne as the two veteran truck drivers who take on the daring rescue. Netflix purchased the US distribution rights of the film at the European Film Market for $18 million.

Anyone familiar with the History Channel's Ice Road Truckers will understand the concept of transporting goods and equipment across frozen lakes during unforgiving winters. Still, those fans haven't seen the scenario turned up to eleven with Neeson behind the wheel. It's a unique concept, as ice road trucking has never been featured in a film before, but driving big rigs has made its way to the silver screen in the past, most notably with 1977's Smokey and the Bandit. However, The Ice Road looks like it will bring a new level of action and suspense to the scenario. Neeson's loyal action fans are bound to be in for a treat when the film debuts on Netflix next month.

Liam Neeson is one of the highest-grossing actors of all time, but how do his movies rank from worst to best? From prestige dramas, to iconic appearances in franchise epics, to his late-career resurgence as an action movie headliner, Neeson has proven himself the definition of versatility.

Born in 1952 in Northern Ireland, Neeson began his career in 1976 with the Lyric Players' Theatre in Belfast, before transitioning to supporting roles in films throughout the 1980s. His 1993 breakout in Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List kicked off a decade of success as the warm, soulful center to a whole bevy of epic dramas. He's played a Jedi master, voiced Aslan, and recently been enjoying a career third act almost entirely comprised of action thrillers, springboarded by his now-iconic turn in Taken.

There's no doubt this actor has a "particular set of skills," from the warm, steely timbre of his voice, to the gentle wisdom that makes him such an ideal onscreen mentor, to the pure physical commitment that makes him so believable in any fight scene. Here are his major films, ranked from worst to best.
