This past week's announcement of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles was well-received by Phoenix Wright fans who have been hoping for localizations since 2015. But another facet of the Ace Attorney fandom was also excited. Physical editions of Ace Attorney games are surprisingly rare, so The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles' announcement was a new opportunity for possible boxes. Now pre-orders are open, but some fans may be left disappointed.

While The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is now available for pre-order at online retailers, it's also now confirmed that only the Nintendo Switch version of the game is receiving a physical edition of the game. That means that PC and PS4 users in the west will only be able to get the game digitally. Capcom hasn't provided an explanation for the lack of physical editions, but both Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice didn't get physical editions at all.
For fans of Phoenix Wright on PS4 that absolutely must have a physical edition, there is one alternative. Capcom is releasing a physical edition of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles in Japan, which should be region-free and with English localization options. There's also a combo pack Ace Attorney Turnabout Collection for both PS4 and Switch that includes The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.
The official price of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is $39.99. An imported version for PS4 from Japan is similarly priced, but could cost more than $20 to ship overseas. As for the Ace Attorney Turnabout Collection combo pack, it costs closer to $70, with another $20 necessary for shipping. For Ace Attorney fans and collectors, it's a small price to pay for what's become a rare offering from Capcom.
Ryu sports a look straight out of the original Mighty Morphin' series. While still retaining his signature red headband and gloves, the Street Fighter mascot is wearing a black leather jacket and white tank top, along with matching black pants. Additionally, Ryu sports a red flannel tied around the waist, coupled with what appear to be some serious combat boots complete the Japanese fighter's early 90s grunge look, an outfit Jason or Tommy would surely be jealous of. While not confirmed, it's likely that Chun-Li will receive an era-appropriate look for her Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid appearance well.
The Angel Grove Class of '93 costume will be part of the upcoming Street Fighter DLC pack, which will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Stadia on May 25 for $12.50. The pack will include both fighters and more exclusive skins, though gamers can also buy each fighter individually for $5.99. The same day will also see the release of Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid Super Edition, which includes all three season pass collections, the Street Fighter pack, and 4 new bonus skins.
It was confirmed a few weeks ago that both Ryu and Chun-Li from Capcom's Street Fighter series would be the next two additions to Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid's roster. The imported pair won't have their classic appearances, suiting up as Power Rangers themselves, with Ryu listed as the Crimson Hawk Ranger and Chun-Li as the Blue Phoenix Ranger.
