One of the stand-out games from 2020, Streets of Rage 4 could be about to get its' expected DLC if rumors are to be believed. Nothing has been confirmed by the publishers or developers just yet, so this information is currently unconfirmed, but the leak is convincing.

Streets of Rage 4 released in April 2020 and was critically acclaimed as a revival of a classic series, as well as a good beat-em-up in its own right. Over 25 years since the release of Streets of Rage 3,  fans were thrilled to have another entry in the series and await more information about DLC. Now, it appears that information may be available ahead of its official reveal.

The DLC is listed on Steam's database as "Mr. X Nightmare," and is potentially a new playable character based on the original trilogy's main antagonist. Reddit user mikesaintjules discovered this listing in Steam's database and shared it, leading many to speculate on what else could be contained in the forthcoming DLC. Though, if it is a new playable character, those who bought Streets of Rage 4 on GoG may still be unable to use the character online.

While all fans have to speculate on at the moment is the title of the database entry, the fact it involves Mr. X is intriguing, as the villain died in Streets of Rage 3 and was only referenced in Streets of Rage 4. Nightmare be a new version of the classic character, or maybe a hint at the DLC being based on a dream. It is hard to say for sure, and fans will have to until the DLC is officially revealed to ensure the listing is not a mistake. In the meantime, there is always the Yakuza/Streets of Rage crossover game which released briefly last year for those craving more Streets of Rage content.

Streets of Rage 4 offers players four hidden retro levels for those that know how to find them, but doing so without a little guidance can be tricky. The trick here is to watch out for arcade machines in certain levels, and should the player use the taser on the machines, the secret level will be unlocked.

These retro levels all reference back to previous entries before Streets of Rage 4, so long time fans of the series ought to get a kick out of the familiar locales and enemies. The locations of the four arcade machines that unlock the secret retro levels are as follows.

The first arcade machine players will need to keep an eye out for is in the second level of the game, Police Precinct. Progress through the level as normal until attacked by a police officer with a taser. In order to unlock the first Retro Level, players will need to pick up the taser and bring it to this arcade machine. It's vital that the taser isn't used on enemies or else the retro level will be missed. This retro level unlocks the Jack boss fight, which fans will remember from the first stage of Streets of Rage 2.
