Resident Evil RE:Verse, the multiplayer game slated to launch with every copy of Resident Evil Village, hasn't had the best of runs during its recent stint of beta tests. While the April 16 test of the game ran with few complications, RE:Verse's first beta was quickly pulled offline due to an array of matchmaking issues, making players worry about the state the spin-off will launch in come May 7.

Luckily, it seems Capcom is looking to continue testing the game's servers as Resident Evil RE:Verse's launch date inches closer, announcing today that it will be holding a third beta test tomorrow. The event will be live for 24 hours and allows players to enjoy an early look at the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Steam.

According to the official Resident Evil RE:Verse Twitter page, players will only need the corresponding hardware and a Capcom ID to ensure they can hop into the horror game's beta. For those who don't already have a Capcom ID, players can sign up for one by heading over to Capcom's website and making a free account. The beta will begin at 6:00 AM UTC on April 21 (roughly 11:00 PM PT on April 20) and will conclude at 6 AM UTC on April 22.

For those who haven't seen much of RE:Verse, the game's a multiplayer third-person shooter featuring several of Resident Evil's most iconic characters. The core crux of the experience sees players run around an arena fighting five other players, starting as human survivors such as Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Hunk. When a player is killed, they transform into one of the series main antagonists, with Nemesis, Mr. X, Jack Baker, and more all joining the fray with a range of powerful moves. The player with the most points at the end of the round wins the game.

RE:Verse is intended to be a supplementary experience to Resident Evil Village, which is also set to launch on May 7. The eighth iteration of the franchise will utilize Resident Evil 7's unique first-person perspective in a whole new setting, dropping returning protagonist Ethan Winters into an ominous village inhabited by vampires, werewolves, witches, and more. It looks to be heavily inspired by Resident Evil 4, reintroducing merchants, intricate inventory management, and an expansive setting, while also offering a more action-centric take on the series compared to its claustrophobic, horror-focused predecessor. The game is getting its own slate of timed demos over the coming weeks, with the next arriving on April 24 exclusively for PlayStation players.

Resident Evil Village is shaping up to be one of the most memorable experiences Capcom has delivered to date. Among the most iconic characters to arrive in Resident Evil Village is the vampiric Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, an antagonist who has drawn tons of adoration from fans, enough that the developer even indulged in fan fantasies of the character. However, she still serves as a deadly adversary for players to avoid at all costs, and on the PlayStation Blog that was made clear alongside numerous other details regarding the survival horror game.
