Not too long ago, Insomniac Games and PlayStation released a short video about Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart covering some of the game's weapons and traversal abilities, hosted by the character of Zurkon Jr. That was only the first of three Almost Launch Party videos. The second has now been published and focuses on some of the planets that players will be exploring.

Considering it's barely over a minute long, and Insomniac obviously doesn't want to give away too much, the video doesn't go into too much detail on any of the planets. Most of them have already been shown off in previous trailers and presentations. Namely, the new planet Corson V – where Nefarious City is located – and alternate versions of Sargasso and Torren IV. Those last two still strongly resemble their original appearances in the previous Ratchet and Clank games, although they do boast new areas and mechanics, like Sargasso's beetle mount.
After those three, the video does a quick run-through of a few more. The first being the planet Savali, which appears to be entirely new for Rift Apart. Not much is shown of it, but it appears to be one of the locations briefly shown in previous footage.

After that is what is likely an alternate version of the planet Ardolis and its space pirate base. Ardolis first featured in 2007's Tools of Destruction, the first entry on PlayStation 3, and was where Ratchet and Clank first encountered Captain Slag and Rusty Pete. Those two would go on to become major antagonists in the sequel Quest for Booty and look set to return in Rift Apart as well. Or, more specifically, alternate versions of them from Rivet's dimension will appear. The last planet that is shown is another new location called Blizar Prime, which will be home to some sort of mining facility.
Throughout this last section, Zurkon Jr reiterates that the game features new planets and alternate versions of planets from previous games. But one extra detail he mentions is that there will be alternate versions of some of the new planets as well. All in all, everything is pointing to Rift Apart potentially being the biggest entry in the series yet.

No doubt there are still plenty of surprises in store for fans when the game finally launches. The existence of alternate versions of established characters has already opened up plenty of possibilities. For example, since Rivet lacks her own version of Clank, this likely means he either doesn't exist in her dimension or he is elsewhere.

The story of Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier really is only just getting started in the MCU, after the huge success of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney Plus. However, the story of Black Widow is ending. The Black Widow movie coming out this summer does have maybe some potential to offer insight into whether the pair ever interacted in the past, if it goes deep enough into her backstory. All of that seems kind of frivolous at this point though, because it can't go anywhere.

There are rumors of a new Black Widow stepping up to take the mantle, and perhaps that could be where they input this romance, but of course that's not confirmed even a little bit. As a whole, it just seems like a weird decision to leave out this part of their story, and it's interesting to think what could have been. What might have gone differently had they decided to go there?
