Bloober Team's Layers of Fear is back again. The psychedelic horror game inside of a Victorian mansion is now on PlayStation VR, and Layers of Fear received an intense live-action trailer showcasing the terrors to celebrate that new platform.
Layers of Fear released in 2016 as a solid indie horror title, one that helped propel developer Bloober Team to greater heights. This year's The Medium likely would not have been as successful if it weren't for Layers of Fear, and now with the game making the jump to PSVR players can feel closer than ever to the twisted tale of the 1920s painter gone mad.
Layers of Fear for PSVR was announced earlier this month and released today. To commemorate the occasion, a live-action trailer that mixes in gameplay was released as well that cleverly jumps back and forth between the VR gameplay of Layers of Fear and live-action footage of a woman with her VR headset taking in the action. As a finishing touch, the trailer ends with the woman finding out that her room has been transported to the very same world of Layers of Fear.
Bloober Team is not new to using live-action trailers, as real actors were used for The Medium trailers to great effect. Bloober Team has said that it wants to be the Blumhouse of the games industry. Between the horror games that it has released over the years and these live-action trailers, it seems to be holding to that idea.
With Life is Strange: True Colors closing in, it's safe to assume that the new Telltale Games will draw inspiration from what is changing with the game for its second, very anticipated season called The Wolf Among Us 2. Since Telltale Games declared bankruptcy back in 2018, and considering it lost most of its assets and part of the original team working on its games, it is likely that things will change for the series. As for Life is Strange: True Colors, this entry is undergoing big changes as well.

Deck Nine Games, the same studio that made Life is Strange: Before the Storm, returns to develop Life is Strange: True Colors. The biggest change to the franchise happening with the latest entry is dropping the episodic release format. Deck Nine Games will still divide Life is Strange: True Colors into episodic format, but all True Colors episodes will be available upon release. The Wolf Among Us 2 is likely to do something similar once it releases, as the new Telltale studio confirmed all episodes are in the works simultaneously. That's a significant change for both franchises that will surely impact both titles' storytelling methods.
Life is Strange as a series is probably one of the most iconic episodic adventure games, so when it drops a very recognizable trait of its legacy, this is bound to affect other similar games as well. Telltale Games went through hard times, and it isn't a secret that the recovery is tough, especially with the new Telltale development team losing rights to several of its original IPs. The aforementioned changes to both Telltale and Life is Strange: True Colors can shape the future of The Wolf Among Us, as well as other titles to come from Telltale Games in the future.

The Wolf Among Us 2 may or may not be released as a full game, much like the new Life is Strange, especially considering how all episodes are being developed together. This fact alone may warrant Telltale Games to either release the full season at once, or have really short waiting times in between episodes once the game is released. Even the game's narrative structure could change, based on the fact that the whole story will be pretty much finished when the first episode goes live.
