Genshin Impact Explains Azhdaha Story In Lore Trailer
A new teaser trailer for Genshin Impact explains the Azhdaha story following the recent release of the 1.5 gameplay update. This lore trailer gives players important background information for the new game content, with the teaser going into more detail on the Liyue region. This trailer serves as a great introduction point for any player looking to pick up the MMORPG for the first time as well.
Genshin Impact is the leading free-to-play online multiplayer RPG, with the game only releasing in late 2020 and smashing records for player count and in revenue. Genshin Impact has grossed over $1 billion since releasing in September 2020. This money is made through in-game sales of items that could otherwise be obtained through gameplay and gacha game monetization. The gacha mechanic is the main way of obtaining new characters, with players who pay for more rolls having more chances to obtain rarer and stronger characters.
The trailer posted on Genshin Impact's YouTube is titled “Through the Eyes of a Dragon” and focuses on the Azhdaha’s release from the earth by the Geo Archon Rex Lapis. Players who have made their way to Liyue may be familiar with these names, but this trailer helps fill in some much-needed information in the lore. This trailer tells the story of creation for the Liyue region, placing the legendary beast at the center of the myth and showing just how important it really was to the people of Liyue. Players who have fought against this monster will know this dragon pretty well. Azhdaha is a weekly boss in the latest 1.5 update, which can be unlocked by completing the Zhongli story mission.
In the trailer, the Genshin Impact's new character Geo Archeon Rex Lapis releases the boss monster from the ground and fights alongside it in battles for years. The trailer shows this through the two perspectives, the narrator and Rex themself. Both show different sides of the story, one being the main mythos of creation in Liyue, with the beast’s information being laid out in both. It was Rex who took pity on the dragon, releasing it and giving it eyes to see the world. How the dragon came to be a boss monster for the Traveler to fight is still unknown, with more lore still needed to come. Future updates in the region may fill this out more.
This was not all there was in the recent 1.5 Genshin Impact update, which added a ton of new content to the game, including the Serenitea Pot. This pot lets players create their own homes in a personal realm. More characters were also included in this update, along with new weapons, recipes, monsters, artifacts, quests and domains to be completed. This update should tide players over until the 1.6 update, which is rumored to add a whole new region to Genshin Impact, making it the third region available so far.
