Dead By Daylight Fans Share Appreciation for Trickster
Dead By Daylight released a new killer character today, and its fanbase has subsequently exploded with appreciation and fan art on Twitter. The new killer is called The Trickster, a flamboyant K-Pop icon with a passion for flamboyant murders.
Dead By Daylight is a 1v4 horror multiplayer game that pits one player as one of many killers against four survivors that have to repair generators to open a gate and escape. There have been quite a few crossover killers in Dead By Daylight, such as Ghost Face, the Demogorgon, and even Pyramid Head, which were added to the game's strong cast of original killers. However, very few of the killers have received as warm of a welcome as Trickster.
A large part of the appreciation stems from Trickster's K-Pop theming and his bold personality. Trickster is easily the most charismatic killer to come to Dead By Daylight, which is helped by his status as being the first killer to talk during matches and that he doesn't hide his face behind a mask. He talks to the camera and winks to the player, and stands out from the other killers in his brightly colored yellow and purple outfit and bladed baseball bat weapon. Fans on Twitter have exploded with excitement about the new character, with a popular Dead By Daylight streamer even cosplaying the killer to celebrate the release today.
Many fans are expressing their love for the wide range of cosmetics that are unlockable for the character, with some even making their own fan art and concepts already. Many other fans are expressing how attractive the character is and how thirsty they are for his giggle during games and charismatic wink at the player while waiting in a pre-match lobby, or even saying that they want to be caught by the killer while playing as a survivor.
The quick embrace of the character does not come as much of a surprise, as fans began expressing their excitement for the DLC when the release date was announced just a few days ago. It is also very common for fans to main a single killer in Dead By Daylight, so Trickster is destined to build a solid base of fans that will play him frequently.
Apart from how attractive Trickster is, many fans are also discussing how intriguing his backstory as a non-paranormal killer. His grounded character and unique mechanics, like his flurry of throwing knives, also contribute to his unique flair amongst Dead By Daylight's other killers. However, some players are already calling for buffs, saying that Trickster is a little too weak compared to the game's stronger killers.
