The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finale fan edit imagines Spider-Man teaming up with Captain America. Marvel Studios' second Disney+ series ended with a culminating event in New York where the Flag-Smashers attempted to stop GRC's vote with regard to reinstating borders. Considering that it's in Peter Parker's typical operating area, there was hope that somehow, the web-slinging hero would make an appearance.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier focused on its main players, and aside from War Machine who appeared in the premiere, no notable Avenger made a cameo. In the finale, Bucky and Sam, who finally accepted the mantle of Captain America after initially refusing it, attempted to stop Karli Morgenthau and the Flag-Smashers who were set to get their message out of "One World. One People" by wreaking as much havoc as possible. The arrival of John Walker and Sharon Carter, who's eventually revealed to be the mysterious Power Broker made things more complicated, but in the end, the heroes successfully accomplished their mission.

Still, considering that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finale happened before Peter went to Europe in Spider-Man: Far From Home, it's curious why the young Avenger didn't show up. While Marvel Studios may not provide an answer anytime soon, Julian Bell came up with a cool fan edit imagining Spider-Man and Captain America team up during the New York incident. Check it out below:

Granted that having an extra pair of hands to help would make things so much easier for Sam and Bucky, but ultimately, they managed on their own. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was about their individual arcs coupled with the development of their friendship past their shared link with Steve Rogers, who's supposedly gone now. Spider-Man is too big of a character to show up as his presence could distract from that storytelling goal. On the flip side, it's also possible that Peter opted to skip the commotion; as seen in Far From Home, he wasn't exactly sure he wanted to continue being a hero, begrudgingly only doing it. Seeing that there were already some Avengers who were taking care of the matter allowed him to sit this one out.

It might take a while, but this proposed team-up will eventually happen. There are currently no upcoming Marvel Studios project where Spider-Man and Captain America's paths can cross, but Avengers 5 is inevitable and both heroes are expected to factor into that. So while it's understandably disappointing that this great scene didn't happen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it doesn't mean that it won't come to fruition on the screen. It just needs a little more wait time.

Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes successfully contained the threat posed by the Flag-Smashers in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier without any help from other Avengers, so where were their allies during this whole crisis? Unlike WandaVision, which had a contained narrative that was primarily set in the Westview hex, its follow up Marvel Studios series featured a global adventure for its heroes that led them to Madripoor in Asia, various locations in Europe including Latvia, as well as the United States. Its story culminated in New York during the GRC summit that Karli Morgenthau and her group attempted to hijack.
