While fans finally received long-awaited news on Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes with the reveal of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl earlier this year, Pokemon news has been somewhat silent as of late. Along with the 4th generation remakes set to release later this year, fans learned of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, an all-new open-world action RPG take on the Pokemon series slated to release early 2022.

The franchise certainly started the year strong with celebrations of its 25th anniversary, but now fans are waiting to see The Pokemon Company's next move, with many hoping to learn more on upcoming games soon. It now seems that fans won't have to wait much longer, as multiple credible insiders have shared some information on a potential upcoming Pokemon Presents broadcast.

The news comes by way of prominent leakers Kelios and Samus Hunter over on Twitter. On the social media platform, Kelios assured fans that they would see a Pokemon Presents in early June, with updates on the release of the upcoming MOBA Pokemon Unite, as well as confirmed release dates for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Samus Hunter reiterated these claims, stating that fans will see a Pokemon Presents ahead of E3, along with much more information in a thread of tweets.

Samus Hunter goes into much more detail on what allegedly has been going on behind the scenes for Pokemon, stating that The Pokemon Company is focused on rebuilding the public's image of Pokemon Unite after the game was poorly received upon its initial reveal. Additionally, the leaker claims that some differences between the original games and the 4th generation remakes will start to be shown, such as new forms for older Pokemon, the return of some older game mechanics, and to many fans' dismay, the exclusion once again of a National Pokedex.

Allegedly, Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be a title primarily focused on the single-player experience, following in the footsteps of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild by emphasizing free exploration. Samus Hunter claims that it will be revealed that Pokemon Legends will carry much simpler battle mechanics than previous Pokemon titles, but implement new mechanics as well to keep things fresh and deep.

Finally, the leaker states that from the upcoming Pokemon Presents onward, fans will learn more about Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl on a monthly basis, and that Pokemon Legends will follow suit once the 4th generation remakes have released. While Nintendo seemingly already has an exciting E3 planned, it seems The Pokemon Company isn't done surprising fans just yet either.

While the Pokemon series isn't known much for experimentation, typically sticking true to its core formula aside from adding occasional battle gimmicks like Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, and Dynamaxing, players were thrown a bit of a curveball last year. In January of 2020, it was announced that Pokemon Sword and Shield players would receive the first ever mainline DLC expansions: The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra.

The announcement came just 2 months after the initial release of Pokemon Sword and Shield, and when it was later revealed that The Crown Tundra would be releasing in the Fall of 2020, fans took that as a sign that Game Freak likely wasn't going to release an annual title that year, breaking a 4-year-long trend. And although The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra have been available for some time now, rumors have continued to swirl about a possible 3rd DLC expansion for Sword and Shield.
