Taking the CCENT Exam is often a new experience for anybody taking it. If this is you, then chances are you aren't really sure what to expect going into the exam. First off I want to say that the test is going to be harder than you currently think it is. You need to have high expectations that the test is going to tough, don't assume that it is going to be easy, because it is best to over prepare.

Since this is your first time ever taking a Certification Exam I thought that I would give you a few little pointers to make the whole process go a little bit smoother.

This might be over looked by a lot of people and seem like it is no big deal, but you should look up the location of your testing center well before the day you go to take it. I went to the wrong location once. Not only are you already stressed about taking the test, but not being able to find the testing center really tops everything off. Even if you know where the testing center building is make sure you know how to get inside. Often times testing centers can be part of a shared complex and can still be hard to find the actual front doors to the testing center when it is hidden by tons of other businesses.

Make sure you take two forms of ID to the testing center. They want to make sure it is really you taking the test and some a friend taking the test for you. Other than bringing Identification you don't really need to bring anything else in.

Depending on the testing center they are going to give you either a little white board and marker or a piece of scratch paper and a pen to write with during the test. Once you get seated down at your testing computer Cisco runs you through some instruction screens that they give you 15 minutes to run through. They don't really take 15 minutes, so go through them and with your extra time write down your subnetting chart so that you can refer to it during the exam. Also write down any other notes you think you might need. This is also good just to get the brain flowing.
